\[CD=D\times n\]

Variables

CDcumulative dose (mg)
Ddose per administration (mg)
nnumber of administrations

Description

What is this formula?

The Cumulative Dose formula calculates the total amount of a substance received over multiple administrations or exposure events.

When to use it

Use this formula when evaluating total exposure to a drug, chemical, toxin, radiation source, or other agent administered repeatedly over time.

Example

A patient receives 250 mg of a medication every day for 14 days.

Data:

D = 250 mg

n = 14

Formula:

CD = D × n

Substitution:

CD = 250 × 14

Result:

CD = 3500 mg

Applications

- Toxicology exposure assessment

- Pharmacokinetic studies

- Occupational exposure evaluation

- Radiation dose tracking

- Long-term medication monitoring
