Volume of a Cone
\[V = \frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h\]

Variables

Vvolume (m³)
rradius of the cone base (m)
hheight of the cone (m)

Description

What is this formula?

This formula calculates the volume of a cone by multiplying the area of its circular base by its height and dividing the result by three.

When to use it

Use this formula when determining the internal capacity or occupied space of conical objects and structures.

Example

If a cone has:

radius = 3 m

height = 6 m

V = (π × 3² × 6) / 3

V = 18π

V ≈ 56.55 m³
