Stock Solution Concentration

Stock Solution Concentration
\[C_s=\frac{M}{V}\]

Variables

Csstock solution concentration (kg/L)
Mmass of dissolved fertilizer (kg)
Vsolution volume (L)

Description

What is this formula?

The Stock Solution Concentration equation calculates the concentration of a fertilizer stock solution based on the amount of fertilizer dissolved and the final solution volume.

When to use it

Use this formula when preparing fertilizer stock tanks for fertigation systems, injector pumps, and greenhouse nutrient delivery systems.

Example

A fertilizer tank contains:

M = 25 kg

Final solution volume:

V = 200 L

Formula:

Cs = M / V

Substitution:

Cs = 25 / 200

Cs = 0.125 kg/L

Result:

The stock solution concentration is 0.125 kg/L.

Applications

- Fertigation tank preparation

- Injector calibration

- Greenhouse nutrient management

- Fertilizer mixing calculations

- Precision agriculture

Note

This equation assumes complete dissolution of the fertilizer and a homogeneous solution. Actual concentration may differ slightly if the fertilizer is not fully dissolved or if the solution is not adequately mixed.
